The Chestnut Row Homes provide unique single-family rental residences in the heart of downtown Chicago. Enhanced by traditional cornices, decorative railings, and extensive streetscape, the building’s exterior harmonizes with its sophisticated surroundings. Our beautiful cream limestone was used for the veneer, cladding, and architectural elements.

Located at the corner of Clark and Chestnut Streets, these seven-row homes represent a contemporary interpretation of the 1880s Italianate homes found in the surrounding Gold Coast historic district. Gracious bay windows create a cadence on the elegant limestone façade of this award winning design.

As crafters of natural stone, the world’s oldest building material, we love getting back to a classic design. For this classic brownstone in Chicago, we returned to the historic roots of the city and approached the design with modern technology. While we may draft and design with modern programs, when it comes to carving, we do everything by hand like we did when we started carving stone over 55 years ago. This process allows us to have a truly unique and custom product, and for this project, it benefited us as we were matching a historic streetscape.
